This project began from the starting point of ‘Sound’. By taking audio recordings from beaches in South Devon, where my family is from, I was able to convert audio clips recorded on my phone to visible waveforms. I then used this wave/line as a template, laser-cutting its inverse out of acetate in sections. I used these templates to push into thrown cylindrical forms while they were still on the wheel, resulting in the actual audio waveform made visible and legible along the profile of each stacked vessel.
