I discovered Voulkos and fell in love with the pure energy of his work.

I loved how fearless his pieces were; how instinctive they required him to be as a maker. I wanted to emulate that demonstration of effort and force that we often hide or perfect as makers. These vessels taught me to properly let go and trust the process. The less I fussed over them— their joins or symmetry or structural integrity— the better they turned out!
